Manufacturing
Laser tailor welding technology has been widely used in foreign car manufacturing. According to statistics, in 2000, there were more than 100 laser tailor welding production lines for tailored blanks worldwide, with an annual output of 70 million pieces of car component tailor welded blanks, and it continues to grow at a high speed. Some cut blank structures are also adopted for domestic production and introduction models. In Japan, CO2 laser welding is used to replace flash butt welding to connect rolled steel coils in the steel industry. Research on the welding of ultra-thin plates, such as foils with a thickness of less than 100 microns, cannot be fusion welded. However, YAG laser welding with a special output power waveform is successful, showing a broad future of laser welding. Japan has also successfully developed YAG laser welding for the first time in the world for the maintenance of steam generator tubes in nuclear reactors, and has also carried out laser welding technology for gears in China.
Powder metallurgy
